This calcium fluoride meniscus lens features a convex outer surface and a concave inner surface. When the outer curvature is greater, the lens provides a positive focal length, making it suitable for magnification and image correction. Compared with conventional optical glass, CaF₂ offers lower dispersion and higher transmission in the UV–visible range.
